Well, what can I say, that was a disastrous game for us.

We started well in the first half and if anything probably edged it but what a different game the second half proved to be.

We let ourselves down with some defensive mistakes but the truth is that we were outplayed.

Mesut Ozil was nowhere to be found as usual, Maitland-Niles made too many errors, Koscielny is past it, Torreira and Xhaka were largely ineffectual and the Aubameyang and Lacazette were not at the races.

Just a bad night all round and no Champions League football next season.

The big names did not show up, there was no leadership and to be honest that game just about summed up our entire season

It started going wrong about ten minutes before the first half finished and it just got worse from there onwards. Hope the Mesut Ozil fan club will now stop going on about how good he is.

Was Stan Kroenke there tonight?

No, he was not

What does that tell you?

I had a gut feeling we were going to lose but chose not to say much although I did try to caution those who were predicting a win for Arsenal. despite that nagging feeling of doom pre-kickoff, the defeat and the manner of it feels like a kick in the groin.

The truth is that I have adopted a very pessimistic view of this team under Emery. Always folds when the ovation is loudest and they are expected to take the next step. Doing well only when written off. Great game plan in the first half, we should have scored at least one goal while we were dominating possession and had them on the ropes, but as happened quite often this season, our strike duo were profligate in front of goal and the support crew led by Kolasinac made poor decisions when in good positions.

Emery lost this match in the dressing room when he allowed himself to be out-thought by Sarri who tactically schooled him today. The shape should have been changed at half-time and possibly a personnel change as well as it was obvious at the end of the half that we were rocking.

Glad we can all see what a waste of space Niles is in an Arsenal shirt. Too casual and laid back and very unprofessional. Cost us 3 goals today.

I wouldn't have picked Cech in goal with all the speculation surrounding him. He did acquit himself with some good saves in the first half and some parts of the 2nd but was very poor for Giroud's goal, Pedro's goal and Hazard's 2nd goal. Simply no longer a shot stopper and not good enough reflexes. All aspects of the game in which Leno excels.

The brightest spark in our play was the introduction of Iwobi who bagged a well taken goal and did look very lively. His problem has never been lack of ability but poor decision making and consistency.

Today, Ozil deserves every criticism he receives from the fans. Bust his gut in the first 15 minutes and his body language for the rest of the game was as horrendous as his touch.

At this point, the future looks really bleak for Arsenal with no source of inspiration from neither the playing staff, coaching staff or management. The gradual slide to oblivion has begun.

Admins Pat and Martin, you really need to speed up the time it takes to moderate a comment.

My previous comment has been awaiting moderation for over 40 mins.

Serious work on this squad is unlikely to happen given our budget and our poor track record in selling and buying players.

@Abel you are 100% correct and I do apologise for the delay. The truth is that we are new to this forum software and how it works and I never even knew that your posts needed moderating.

We will get better and I thank you for your patience.

A huge overhaul is needed and I agree that with the board as it is currently constituted I am not that confident that we will sort this out

No problem Martin. I understand the site is in the testing phase and quirks are still being ironed out.

Quite agree with you @Sip. very difficult to see any silver lining in the dark clouds around the Club right now.
