I have just read a post that Emery has told Bielik that he will not be part of his plans for the coming season, I am astounded that during this time of transfer budget restraints we are not using this player to his full potential , he has slowly built a reputation as a central midfielder and defender earning rave reviews for his part in Charltons promotion push last term,I am however happy that some of our academy have now been promoted, the question is why not Bielik, only Emery can answer this and i am not sure he ever will, lets hope he and we do not regret this decision.
“My future is unknown but there is one thing I can say for sure: I will definitely not go back to Arsenal U23 team,” he said.
“At this stage it wouldn’t make sense. If I do not receive the possibility to join the first team permanently, I will have to look for other solutions.
“I feel like a senior player now so I want to play senior football. This is, however, not the right moment to discuss these issues as I want to be 100% focused on the European Championships.” ( https://arseblog.news/2019/06/bielik-i-want-to-play-first-team-football/)
If the above is correct Bielik is now on holiday after the U-21 European Championships. So that would explain why he is not on the tour with the rest of the squad. I would assume he will get a chance in the first team once he is back and that his future will be decided then. If he makes an impression he could be joining the first team squad and that would be in line with his own wishes. If not, well then he had his chance an did not make the most of it.
Have you heard anymore recent words from Bielik himself about this?
Well, then there is still hope. As little as it is, these days it is at least something. But from the lack of transfers, and from the depressing transfer situation, perhaps youth IS the way forward. No, or few transfers, is certain to give our youngsters a chance. Perhaps Bielik too. 🙂
Agreed, it is good to see them getting a go but I cant help thinking that the senior players that we have are not the ones to help them integrate, most of them showed a very poor attitude last season and with Kos probably leaving , we will need to get hold of another leader from somewhere, kos wasn't a great leader but the best we have at present, I think Bielik could be a good captain eventually and i will sit and hope with you that he stays.
Yes, and the attitude is a problem, perhaps our biggest. There appears to be a huge mental problem with some of our senior players. I wonder if they are taking the help of a sports psychologist, because it certainly looks like some of them need it.
On the plus side, Emery is starting his second season, we might see a few hungry youngsters and if we actually manage to get a few signings things could be good. But we absolutely will not survive a bad start of the season I fear.
